About the Name of Our Organization
Araucaria is a native Chilean pine tree that grows in the southern region of the country. Uncontrolled logging and other negative human activities today threaten the survival of this tree.
Likewise, humans have created hazards for their health through harmful lifestyle habits. These include smoking, poor diet, lack of exercise, and more. As a result of these lifestyle choices, the heart is severely affected.
A Nonprofit Dedicated to Cardiovascular Health and Medicine
Established in 1994 in San Diego, California, Fundacion Araucaria Foundation is a nonprofit medical organization that focuses on preventing heart diseases. Our main objective is to promote prevention and research activities in coronary heart disease and hypertension.
Our Organization’s Activities
Fundacion Araucaria Foundation has contributed to the development of cardiovascular disease prevention and rehabilitation programs in Chile and San Diego. We aim to assist in the recovery of patients following a heart attack, open-heart surgery, and other conditions limiting the heart's function.
To address this, we sponsored registered nurses from Chile with expertise in cardiovascular care through visits to the Sharp Health Care Cardiac Rehabilitation programs in San Diego, California.
